VeraNic Art is an art group based at Cerebral Palsy Midlands (CPM) in Harborne. Since its beginning in 2008 the artists have produced numerous drawings, paintings, sculptures and films depicting themes important to them.

The ethos of the group has always been to produce art works for exhibition and sale.

The artists each with a CP condition have used different materials over an unspecified duration of time to realise their chosen theme. They are encouraged to problem solve and create at their own pace in order to build their skills and gain confidence with the materials.

The Rumpelstiltskin puppets, scenery and props that you see on display here today are the latest works produced by the group.

The artists have made the puppets from polystyrene, ‘Plaster of Paris’ bandage, and acrylic paint.

Our aims are to have these pieces as part of a film adaptation and also a theatre production of Rumpelstiltskin due for release early next year.
The puppets have so much character and so much time and energy has gone in to their making.
