Cerebral Palsy Midlands (CPM) is a day centre for adults with a range of disabilities. I have been going to the centre on a work placement scheme every Tuesday since September 2016. I have been engaging with the service users and members of staff from the centre completing tasks that have been set out for me.

My work experience has been assisting Development Officer Sarah Lilly in the Marketing Office and has been really good for me as I’m learning new skills on the computer and have been building my confidence when meeting new people learning to communicate at the appropriate level.
I have enjoyed joining in with others gaining the feeling that I am doing something useful to help others. This placement has given me the first few steps of how to go out into the adult world.

I have been working on numerous different tasks ranging from working on reception answering phones and greeting people into the centre.

I have interviewed a few members from the centre about CPM. I have also made some posters for different events that CPM was holding.

I have also sat in on staff meetings and took down minutes. I have enjoyed my time here and thank everyone for their help and support.
