New minibus for CPM! Thanks to The Asda Foundation

Cerebral Palsy Midlands and Asda Community Champion Katey who works at the local Barnes Hill store helped secure a £15,000 donation from the Asda Foundation to pay for a new minibus for our centre.

The minibus will help members of staff transport people to and from our centre, to GP appointments, to do their shopping, to go on trips and and to access the local community.

Development Officer Sarah Lilly said: "We really are grateful to have our new minibus. Everyone here knows what a difference it will make to the lives of the people we support.

“We met Katey for the first time at our community fete and fundraiser last year when she came in to volunteer for the day. She loved what we were doing and how we reached out to those with disabilities in the community.

“Since then she’s been a regular supporter and volunteer for our charity and that has led us to being able to apply for the Asda Foundation grant.”

The new vehicle is now in use and has been transporting clients to and from the centre, helping them access GP appointments, shopping and get out into the community. It really will make a difference to our service and the great work that we do here.
